The 1st Annual Dana Point Halibut Tournament, to be held March 16/17th, will be a real blow-out event with Dana producing some quality halibut over the last few weeks we have seen a rush on anglers entering this event. The way the Dana Halibut tournament has been structured is to offer cash prizes from all the entry fees and to have donated prizes at the Awards Party.

We have had such a fantastic response from sponsors that we have added some new prizes in addition to the ones already listed.

There will be 3 halibut tagged over 24" and the tag numbers of these tagged
halibut will be provided in order of prizes and places.
1st tagged halibut recovered $ 1000.00 cash
2nd tagged halibut recovered Shimano Reel
3rd tagged halibut recovered Custom Rod

Each of the above tagged halibut numbers will correspond to the prize listed here. 

In addition by popular request we have added a daily jackpot of $ 10.00 per angler for the biggest fish each day. (optional) see rules

There is also prizes added for the first legal halibut weighed in each day. 

Sponsors have been very supportive and the fantastic Claim Jumper Restaurant Group have once again come out in support the Halibut event and the Mako tournament. We are very lucky to have Claim Jumper's support again. 

Tag and Brag have once again come out to support our tournament and providing some exclusive apparel as gifts and prizes to be handed out at the awards.

Dana Point Bait have very generously offered to sponsor and support the tournament with gift certificates towards  scoops of bait and will be providing fresh dead squid for those who want to use squid.

Come celebrate a St Patrick's day Awards Party after the Tournament on March 17, 2002 in Dana Point immediately following weight-in. It will feature the major awards distribution to all the winners, food, door prizes, Draft Beer and raffles for valuable Rods & Reels, Fishing Tackle, Sportfishing Trips, Electronics, and fun for everyone. 

The Dana Halibut entry fee is only $30.00 per angler including the Awards Party/Dinner. Entry includes raffle tickets that are good for splendid door prizes. Entrants may purchase raffle tickets for additional prizes.
